Angela qualified as a solicitor whilst working in the North Devon Magistrates’ Court. When she left in 2001 she had been promoted to the role of Principal Legal Adviser. Since then she has worked in private practice and as a Senior Prosecutor with the Crown Prosecution Service. She has also prosecuted cases for the Department of Work and Pensions. She set up and ran her own firm of solicitors. Her accreditation as a duty solicitor was from Cardiff University in 2005. She has worked for the Royal College of Nursing representing nurses before the Nursing and Midwifery Council and represented Clients in Inquests. She qualified as a collaborative family lawyer with Resolutions. Most recently she has been working as a duty solicitor in London.
Her years of experience working in Magistrates’ Courts has equipped her to deal with all types of cases brought before that court. In private practice she dealt with crime, family, licensing, and mediation. Her experience of prosecuting, defending and advising Justices, has given her a unique perspective when planning her cases, she is able to see the case as a Prosecutor, Defence Solicitor and Legal Adviser to the Justices.
She has been a member of Soroptimists International for many years. This is a global volunteer movement working together to transform the lives of women and girls. There are members in 132 countries and territories working at local, national and international level. She was the founding President of a new Club in her local area called Taw and Torridge Soroptimists. This club has now celebrated its 10th Anniversary. Whilst President her chosen charities supported research into prostate cancer, meningitis, colon cancer and funding for a new chemotherapy unit in her local hospital.
